| #1 | I need some help with the cost of keeping this website going. The website cost goes up with the amount of use. I am having records hits and need some way to cover the rising cost. I think if Jocassee Reports sponsored a tournament I could make the funds needed to keep the board going. I want to have it on Saturday May 2nd. I would like it to be a little different from the JOC tournaments. It would be $50 per boat not per person. I also would like to have the total weight of 3 fish instead of 1.
I need to know if it is something that anyone is interested in. If I get enough positive response I will get started on making it happen. Please chime in and let me know what you think.
Thanks,

| #10 | What is the payback going to be? Is it a full blown Charity event with just trophies? 50% return or just some supplemental income to keep the board up? Or is it another line of work for you? Are there any rules to know about? Artificial lures only, dead fish penalty, polygraph, Off limits at the intakes? Will guides be allowed? Will guides be allowed to take clients? Stuff like that. Russ, The tournament rules would be the same as all the other trout tournaments on Jocassee. The only changes would be the per boat, not per person entry fee and the total weight of 3 fish instead of 1. It would be an 80% payback paying 3 places. As I said in the original post I only want make the funds needed to keep the board going. I have enough lines of work already.
I still have to get the date approved by SCDNR and Devils Fork State Park. I will post more in the Trout Tournament forum when I have it approved.

| #13 | Sounds good. You might think about the intakes being off limits. If a couple people anchor up and a couple drift minnows it will be unfishable for the guys trolling. Not to mention the night fishermen for Friday. I'll fish. Creek

I hope alot of people decide to fish. It's alot more affordable than JOC tourney, if you split the cost with your partner, plus alot of fish should be caught. I hate to guess what it will take to win it. 10-15lbs?? It will be a great time, I hope it takes off so maybe Sam will decide to have more. Id like to see them all thru the summer, although I realize the traffic in the parking lot is the issue. |

| #15 | The weekend traffic is the problem with summer tourneys. But a few guys can always call a dog fight. Used to be some goods ones in the summer, years ago. Creek

| #17 | Sam, When you say you will pay 3 places, do you mean three boats or three people?

I think he means 3 boats. It will be a team tournament. rather your by yourself or have 3 partners it will be $50 a boat. |

| #19 | I understand that the pay-in will be per boat. What I would like to have clarified is the pay-out. One of the real questions is "Does it matter who 'catches' the fish?"
I think he means that he will pay the boat and it doesn't matter who catches the fish. We had this discussion several years ago about the regular tournaments, and what I thought turned out to be wrong.

| #20 | John,
You are right. Three places will be payed to three boats. The owner or captain of the boat will be the one that needs to register and pay. I may do a big fish pot for $10 with 100% payback to 1 place, if so that will also be per boat. It will not matter who catches the fish.
I have got permission from the state park and have sent the application for the permit to SCDNR.
